BONTADINI SANGIOVESE PUGLIA IGP - 2015 (ITALY, PUGLIA)
S$36.00

Availability: In stock

Soft and full-bodied

Bontadini Sangiovese is a beautiful clear red in the glass with slight violet markings. The ripened berry aroma is alluring and intense. The taste is seductively soft and full-bodied, with a pleasant clean fruity character and a delightfully lingering aftertaste. This is a very versatile and perfect all-round wine which lends itself to antipasti or a good tomato soup, but is also a safe choice to simply enjoy during an evening on the terrace.
Serving temperature: 15-18°C.

Vinification

The wine is produced from Sangiovese grapes, which grow on the sundrenched hills of Apulia. The Sangiovese grape from Tuscany is especially well-known and forms the backbone of many world famous wines, such as Chianti and Brunello. The grapes thrive in Apulia and develop with lots of juice and intensity in the red, clay-rich soil. The climate is warm with light breezes from the Mediterranean. The grapes are traditionally processed and aged in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures to retain as much fruit as possible in the wine. The Apulia (or Puglia in Italian) region forms the heel of the characteristic boot and it is not without reason that it has acquired the nickname of "Europe's wine cellar." The production of wine in this region is among the 10 largest in the world. Growth conditions here are extremely favourable, so the grapes give more yield than in any other region. The winters are warm andthe summers hot and humid.
