Vinification


The wine is produced from Sangiovese grapes, which grow on the sundrenched hills in Apulia. The Sangiovese grape from Tuscany is especially well-known, where it forms the backbone of many world famous wines such as Chianti and Brunello. The grapes thrive in Apulia and develop with lots of juice and intensity in the red clay-rich soil. The climate is warm with light breezes from the Mediterranean. The grapes are traditionally processed and aged in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures to retain as much fruit as possible in the wine. The Apulia (or Puglia in Italian) region forms the heel of the characteristic boot and it is not without reason that it has acquired the nickname of "Europe's wine cellar." The production of wine in this region is among the 10 largest in the world. Growth conditions here are extremely favourable, so the grapes give more yield than in any other region. The winters are warm and the summers hot and humid.
