BONTADINI TOSCANA ROSSO IGP - 2016 (ITALY, TUSCANY)
S$36.00

Availability: In stock

Soft and fresh

Bontadini "Super Toscana" is a sparkling clear red in the glass with an expansive fragrance of cherries and dried spices from the Italian kitchen. The taste is medium full-bodied with a very clean fruity character and a hint of spice in the aftertaste. Both taste and aroma have a pleasant sweetness. The wine is a perfect accompaniment to pasta dishes or a good cut of meat.
Serving temperature: 16-18°C.

Vinification

Bontadini "Super Toscana" is produced from a combination of local grapes and the celebrated Sangiovese grape, which also forms the backbone of famous wines like Brunello and Chianti Classico. The grapes are harvested from fields in the Tuscany region, and vinification is a traditional process with ageing in tanks and, for some of the must, in oak barrels. Tuscany is the most important and most famous wine region in Central Italy. Rolling hills fill two-thirds of the Tuscan landscape and the wine fields are located at heights of between 150 and 500 metres above sea level. The climate is optimal for the harvesting of grapes, including the Sangiovese grape which enjoys optimal conditions in this region.

Toscana Rosso has the classification IGT, ‘Indicazione Geografica Tipica,’ a wine category that was introduced by law in Italy in 1992. The producer has a little more room to play within this classification than the more stringent Chianti regulations.
