Vinification

This powerful red wine is produced from grapes that are harvested when they reach full maturity. After a lengthy maceration of the must to increase colour and complexity of taste, the wine is fermented. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures to preserve the fruit and grape typicity in the final wine. The wine is traditionally aged in large wooden barrels to concentrate its flavour. Milianti is produced based on the qualities demanded by consumers, which is why this wine has many of the same elements as Amarone, such as a powerful full fruit with a hint of sweetness and dark chocolate and a long and intense aftertaste.
The Aglianico grape thrives in the hot climate of southern Italy. The grapes originally comes from Greece, where it can still be found. In southern Italy the Aglianico grape is found in several different regions and creates a wine with great variation. The region is called Beneventano, and is a sub-region of Campania in southern Italy where winegrowers work most intensely with the Aglianico grape.
