MILIANTI NEGROAMARO SALENTO IGT - 2017 (ITALY, PUGLIA)
S$35.00

Availability: In stock

Concentrated and full bodied

Milianti Negroamaro is dramatic red in the glass with rather light hues of violet. The aroma is on of intense ripe berries. The taste is nicely concentrated and medium full-bodied, with a delightful clean fruit character and a pleasantly soft aftertaste.

Milianti Negroamaro is a good match with dishes from the Mediterranean kitchen, grilled meat or aromatic cheeses.
Serving temperature: 18-20°C.

Vinification

Milianti is produced from Negroamaro grapes which are grown in Salento in the southern part of Apulia. The grapes develop perfectly in the red and slightly clayey soil to give lots of intensity and strength. The hot climate and light breezes from the Mediterranean also contribute to a favourable growth. The grapes are traditionally processed and aged in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures to retain as much fruit as possible in the finalwine. The region Apulia (or Puglia in Italian) forms the heel of Italy's characteristic boot. This is often referred to as "Europe's wine cellar". The production of wine in this region is among the 10 largest in the world. The winters are mild and the summers hot and humid, which provides particularly favourable growth conditions for the vines, which give higher yields here than in any other region. The southern part of Apulia on the almost sun-scorched Salento peninsula is dominated by the Negroamaro grape along with the Primitivo and Malvasia Nera varieties.
